Bay Area partners
With capacity for up to 40 people, the San Francisco Community Space is intended to provide critical programming, meeting, and event space for Bay Area nonprofits focused on connecting underserved communities to economic opportunity. In the past, we’ve partnered with organizations like Mission Bit, JVS and Code Tenderloin.

Employee volunteering
Welcoming local nonprofits into this space makes it easy for LinkedIn employees to connect with charitable giving and volunteer opportunities focused on coaching and mentorship, allowing them to share their skills and support causes they care about.
Local art activation
The 1,365-square foot space is supported by local nonprofit Creativity Explored and features installations from artists with developmental disabilities. This art is available for purchase, with 100% of the proceeds going to the organization and their artists.

Mission Bit is a non-profit that helps to make tech more inclusive by inspiring youth of color to explore the world of STEM through computer science education. They offer free coding classes, workshops, mentoring and career preparation programs in the Community Space for high school students from underserved and underrepresented communities. -
TechSF, a program managed by JVS helps unemployed and underemployed Bay Area Residents attain the skills they need to find meaningful work. In addition to honing technical abilities, participants build interpersonal skills and increase their professional network through tailored resources and a supportive and inclusive community. TechSF runs its monthly orientations out of the Community Space.

Code Tenderloin is a workforce development non-profit that aims to remove barriers that keep jobseekers from securing long-term employment. Code Tenderloin runs their job readiness programmes out of the Community Space which includes workshops on financial and legal literacy, building soft and technical skills, and helping overcome barriers including substance abuse, mental health, education level, childcare and transportation.

Who is eligible to use the space, and what can it be used for?
The Community Space is available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that have a programmatic presence within the Bay Area and a focus on connecting underserved communities to economic opportunity. The space can be used for a variety of purposes, including meetings, events, and programming.
How can I book the space?
To find out if the Community Space is available, request use of the space via our Community Space Request Form and tell us a little about your organization and how you'd like to use the space. If you are hoping to use the space for a specific event, include relevant dates and times, if applicable. You will hear back from our team within 3 business days.
Where is the space located?
The Community Space is located on the ground floor of LinkedIn’s office at 222 Second Street in San Francisco, behind the large lobby staircase on the left as you face the building. There is also a direct entrance to the space accessible from the lobby.
What hours can the space be used?
The space may be booked between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Normal support hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise requested and approved in advance.
How many people can the space hold?
The space's maximum capacity is 40 people, though functional capacity depends heavily on set-up.
Is catering provided? Can we bring our own food?
Partner organizations are always welcome to bring in "carry-in" options such as pizza, sandwich trays, pre-packaged snacks, or non-alcoholic drinks. If an external caterer will be coming onsite to set up or manage catering, the caterer's valid certificate of insurance must be submitted to LinkedIn at least 72 hours in advance of the event. Catering can also be purchased from our food service provider, Bon Appétit.
Outside alcohol such as beer and wine is not permitted in the space (Bon Appétit can only serve alcohol that is purchased by Bon Appétit). It is also the responsibility of the partner organization to bring any plates, napkins, utensils, or serving implements that guests may need. There are no extra kitchen supplies in the space for events.
